As Couture season in Paris kicks off with runway shows from designers like Dior and Chanel, Riccardo Tisci's collection for Givenchy stands out from the crowd impressively. The designer played with feminine-masculine silhouettes like tuxedo tail coats to flamenco inspired volumes on evening dresses. His influence came from all over, although at the beginning there were looks clearly reminiscent of the seventies like suede over the knee boots and layers of organza here and there. The collection was an amazing display of creativity and taste coming from a man who started making his way into couture grounds recently. Above are some of my favorite moments from the show.

I have yet to watch the show, but I am already looking forward to that gorgeous purple dress. However, from the pictures that I've seen on various websites, some looks struck me as more RTW. May be just me though. :)
ReplyDeleteI love it, I guess couture can only be afforded by a certain amount of people, and even those who can don't want to look overdone
ReplyDeleteTisci and his hair-like materials! crazyyy...but that's what you have to love about Givenchy! And definitely agree about the purple gown...gorgeous!
